Shawls are wearable, functional, art. (A stole is just a narrower shawl – but larger than a scarf… complicated, I know. I suppose that a cloak is a larger shawl).
Regardless of what you name it, a shawl properly chosen can make an outfit. It can keep you warm and dry, it can be sturdy, fragile, thick, diaphanous. It is one of my favorite things to make.
The norm for sizing is 40″x80″ for a shawl, and 28″x80″ for a stole (fyi, a scarf can be anything from 6″ wide up to well, 27″). We aren’t sure who makes these rules up, but it’s a good benchmark to veer from with each project.
Some examples of my work. These have all been created and found new homes. As I create new stock, I will post those as “available”.
Unless noted, these have all been snapped up by happy shawl and stole lovers. This page will just give you an idea of what I can make for you. Most of my work is commissioned, or bought when I post pictures on instagram and my facebook page of works-in-progress.
